Supplying the strongest and the most populer Translation Technologies in the world, SDL Inc. announced a wider functionality for Turkey. With an announcement made last week, SET SOFT, Turkish Distributor for SDL Technologies was appointed for "Wide Area" Distributorship.
SET SOFT INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES CO., INC. started to distribute SDL Technologies in 2006 and showed steadily rising performance since then. Successful performance in marketing activities especially during 2009, the financial crisis period, played an important role in assignment of SET SOFT as the Wide Area Distributor. Mr. Rafet Saltik, Managing Director of SET SOFT, said "We have always been in close contact with other countries around Turkiye. Thanks to the cultural and historical relations, we have very good commercial contacts and this time Turkiye has undertaken an important role in introducing the very innovative technologies in these countries."
Mr. Saltik also stated that the financial global crisis played an important role in the fact that more companies showed interest in CAT (Computer Assisted Translation) Technologies especially because they need to lower the budget they allocate for translation and documentation services. He also said "Companies focus more on marketing activities during crisis a period, which triggers documentation costs. SDL Trados brings economy to documentation costs and this is why the interest towards the technology doubles during such periods. Now, our task is to introduce these technologies to our neighboring countries. We are also planning training sessions on these tools in those countries."
With the recently launched new version, SDL Trados 2009 Studio, SDL has made a revolution on CAT Technologies. Marketing Manager Martin Philips stated that the new version SDL Trados Studio is an outcome of 25 years' experience, non-stop efforts and more than USD 100 M investment in Research and Developments activities. Explaining the new role of SET SOFT in the Wide Area Mr. Philips said "Some developing countries normally follow innovative products slowly than the others; however CAT Technologies are those developing countries need more than any others because they directly have decreasing effect on documentation costs. This is why we feel it is our responsibility to introduce CAT Technologies to these countries. Together with SET SOFT, we have designed surprising launch prices for these countries and the prices will soon be declared."
Among the countries SET SOFT will start distribution are Iran, Iraq, Syria and Northern African Countries. According to the protocol, SET SOFT will either directly market and sell to users in these countries or will make Reseller Agreements with candidates from these countries.
